Colombia Cycling Tours.

Take on LETRAS - The longest climb in the world. Colombia enjoys perfect weather year round, allowing you to cycle the Andes Mountains, “Cordilleras de los Andes”, at any time.

Colombia’s varied geography of valleys, mountains, rivers, and coastlines offers an experience unlike any other.  You will visit historical and traditional towns, sample Colombian cuisine, see a tremendous variety of biodiversity, and cycle through the flower fields and coffee farms that have made Colombia famous.

Among many routes and destinations, LETRAS, is the highest mountain in the world that you can scale on road bike. A ride that allows you discover new smells, landscapes and towns through  the 3.600 m of elevation gained. Come ride through Colombia with us:

Day 1 - Medellin, Colombia’s second largest city, is located in a valley. Its surrounding areas, characterized by perfect roads, picturesque villages, and hundreds of cyclists on the weekends, provide for unique cycling routes. We stay 45 kilometres outside of the city to cycle at 2,300 metres (8,202 feet) above sea level.

This region is home to Colombia’s second largest flower fields, producing 20% of all of Colombia’s flowers and pickup from Medellin Airport.

Day 2 - Starting at 2,600 metres above sea level and then go down to 500 meters, passing through all the climatic zones and vegetation. Arrival to a natural reserve, lunch, bathed in the river and rest for the big climb next day. Dinner and sleep in the hotel between the natural reserve. Distance : 80 to 140 km / Elevation gain: 2000 metres.

Day 3 - We will ride to a beautiful heritage town that takes its name from the Ondaimas, the indigenous people that inhabited the banks of the Magdalena river and the region where the city lies today. Enjoy a beautifull place while you going to prepare yourself for the big challenge.
Distance : 102  km.

Day 4 - The big challenge! we are going to ride the longest climb in the world. Don't worry about water, granolas, banana and supplies, our support vehicle is ready to help. The effort, sweat and suffer, will be rewarding for the amazing landscapes, little towns along side the road, smells, vegetation and more. Distance : 120,7 km. 80km mountain pass. Elevation gain: 4.600 metres. Estimated riding time: 6 - 8 hours

Days 5-7 - Enjoy three days riding around Colombia's Coffee Triangle. Pereira, Manizales, and Armenia are the three departments that make up the region referred to as the Coffee Triangle. Here the best and smoothest coffee in the world is grown and for which Colombia has received worldwide recognition. Amazing landscapes, challenging climbs and beautiful towns full of life, are the scenery for this days.

Day 8 - Transfer back to to Matecaña International Airport (Pereira)
