Tour of Flanders is one of the five Monuments of cycling and one of the two major cobbled classics along with Paris–Roubaix. This race stops Belgium - when Fabian Cancellara won in 2014, 85.7% of the population of the country watched his victory either live or on television!

Friday is arrival day when we meet & greet at our fantastic accommodation in Melden. Its 200 meters from the Koppenberg and provides secure bike storage, early breakfast, stocked drinks fridge and secure parking. Local restaurants will be booked Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The WeRideFlanders sportive entries will be handed and our and in the late afternoon, we head out for a short spin around the Koppenberg, Kwaremont and Paterberg. Dinner is booked in at the Bistro-Taverne De Pedaleur and then we help you make sure your bike is all ready for the Sportive on Saturday !
Saturday starts with an early breakfast before we spin the 4km to Oudenaarde for the start of the 175, 144 or 75km routes. The 175km takes in all the cobbles & bergs of the Pro Race route and all routes finish back in Oudenaarde. If you've booked in advance, then you would have been able to make use of our training plans from Vitfor and those climbs wont look so bad !
Its a short spin back to the hotel after enjoying a post ride beer in Oudenaarde town square. Dinner reservations will be made at the fabulous T'Veer restaurant which is a 5 minute walk from our hotel for the evening to relax after a hard day in the saddle.
Sunday starts leisurely before we have a social spin to Oudenaarde to enjoy the race day atmosphere with the Mens & Womens pelotons coming through the town square around midday. We then spin back to drop bikes at our accommodation and take the short walk up to the Koppenberg fan zone. Grab your beer & frites and cheer on the Mens peloton which comes through around 1500. After this, we head down to the local Koppenberg Cafe / Bar to enjoy the last hour of racing on TV. Dinner is taken at a local restaurant.

Best options for accommodation are around Oudenaarde which is well located for Sunday viewing opportunities when the Pro-Race is taking place. See the best classic riders take on the Koppenberg, Paterberg & Kwaremont sections multiple times along with the local fans who swarm to the area to cheer them on.
The best way of getting to the area on the Friday is by driving which takes around 1hr 45mins from Calais. Alternatives are flying to Brussels (1hr away) or Eurostar.
The cobbles of Flanders are not as brutal as Paris Roubaix. We do recommend fitting 25mm tyres and maybe double wrapping your handlebars. A nice climbing gear is recommended due to multiple climbs. You don't want to have to stop and walk.
It is an early start for the Sportives and March can bring cold weather so therefore please bring appropriate clothing with you.
Local bike hire is available however please let us know at the time of booking if you require a bike! With 16000 Flanders cyclists in the local area, demand is extremely high over these dates.
