Gran Fondo Eddy Merckx - Lake Garda, Italy
All Things Ride presents a chance to ride and experience the fantastic adventure of the Alé La Merckx Granfondo race. We base you at the Lake Garda Bike Hotel due to the excellent facilities in addition to having fantastic cycling facilities.
While not as well known to UK riders, this event is another must do Gran Fondo. First of all you pass the headstone in memory of Shakespeare “There is no world without Verona walls…”. The Gran Fondo Eddy Merckx then allows cyclists to ride together on two beautiful courses. In addition, the route runs exclusively through the province of Verona and divides after roughly 70 kilometers. The Gran Fondo Eddy Merckx Mediofondo offers 85km & 1250m of climbing. Gran Fondo Eddy Merckx Granfondo offers 139km, and 2500m of climbing.
At the finish line, the “Maestri del riso” (the Masters of rice) will welcome the tired but satisfied riders to restore them with the rice party which will be held in the prestigious scenario of Palazzo della Gran Guardia situated in Piazza Bra.

Another location where you can visit several important churches which represent the historic-artistic heritage of the town (S. Zeno and S. Severo Churches)
SIRMIONE
Where you can visit the famous Grotte di Catullo, at the end of the peninsula, set in a wonderful panorama. The remains of the Roman villa known as “Grotte di Catullo" is probably the greatest example of a private high-class building in all of Northern Italy. The building was probably the Catullo family villa, the Latin poet who died in 54 BC.
ISLAND LAKE GARDA
You can find a majestic palace, enriched by an Italian garden, and a park with exotic plants. In addition, you can book guided visits, which includes the ferry to get there; departure at 9.45 a.m. from Bardolino or at 10.00 a.m. from Garda, every Wednesday morning.
MALCESINE
With the famous Castello Scaligero on the Rocca National Monument that you can visit, and a Museum of Natural History which hosts the natural history of the area
TREMOSINE
