Venotoux has it own climate and offers a challenge to any cyclist. The area of Provence can still be cold in Spring but riding conditions become better in May as as the summer heats up. May is the really the earliest month to ride a Mont Ventoux Tour. Otherwise, its a constant threat of bad weather.
Although it can become beautifully warm in the summer, as you climb Ventoux, the weather can change massively from bottom to top. Winds and extreme temperatures mean you need to have clothing for every eventuality.
A great time to ride is Autumn since the summer sun eases off. This isnt always guaranteed. Later Autumn months can become very cold and so we recommend avoiding the later parts of October.
